The World's Most Livable Cities

A new Mercer study hat-tips Zurich and other European, North American, and Asian cities for delivering a stellar quality of life for expatriate executives

Mercer Human Resource Consulting, which provides advice to multinational companies on international assignments, has come up with a global ranking of the world's most livable cities based on 39 criteria ranging from personal safety to public transportation.

Here's the top 10 list:
  • Zurich, Switzerland
  • Geneva, Switzerland
  • Vancouver, Canada
  • Vienna, Austria
  • Auckland, New Zealand
  • Dusseldorf, Germany
  • Frankfurt, Germany
  • Munich, Germany
  • Bern, Switzerland
  • Sydney, Australia
Top Canadian city was Vancouver at #3 (below).

Toronto (below) was rated #15.

Honolulu was the top American city at #27.
