Frozen Bagels Will Soon Come with Cream Cheese

The idea just disgusts me. Kraft is launching in April their new line of frozen bagels that come pre-filled with cream cheese. Bagel lovers should be outraged but lets face it people are looking for convenience and spreading creamcheese on a bagel takes a lot of effort in the morning.

They are called Bagel-Fuls (not pictured) and will come with (Philadelphia) cream cheese in regular and cinnamon flavors to start with, but at this point it’s unclear how the bagels will be defrosted, since microwaved cream cheese sounds rather revolting. Smuckers recommends Uncrustables, the frozen peanut butter-and-jelly sandwiches, just defrost for 30-60 minutes before eating.

Hey kids eat Pizza Pockets so what do you expect?

UPDATE: A kind reader points out that it will be microwavable bagel on a stick with creamchesse filling. I'm ready to vomit.

Ugh, that does sound repulsive. Luckily, it sounds like they are not messing with real bagels anyway, but with donut-wannabes masquerading under the same names

Good Lord. If a person is that lazy they can't take a couple of seconds to spread some cream cheese on a bagel, I suggest they just drive to Timmies and buy one. Frozen cream cheese....YUCK!!!

I just posted a couple updates to the story. Apparently the idea is not unique. There's a bit ofa history of patents for ideas similar to this.

Also of note, I found a different article that confirms the product will be a bagel stick and is supposoed to be microwaveable, not toastable.
