Man Killed by Lightening at Christie Pits

Although my neighbourhood was finally spared, parts of Toronto was hit by a major thunderstorm. Downtown, the rains first started to pound the city a little before 8pm, springing into a torrential downpour a short time later.

A man reportedly struck by lightning inside Christie Pits at Christie and Bloor and was found without vital signs under a tree that had been pierced. He was taken to hospital, but couldn't be revived. His identity isn't known. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often considering the number of thunderstorms we get.
